Walk in the cold!

One thing about winter is it's so nice to be rugged up if you are in a
stroller with not a care in the world! Poor little guy is wearing 3
layers plus woolen slippers and 3 blankets plus the beanie.

c'mon everybody, c'mon everybody!

Growing up

An amazing yet scary thought crossed my mind his morning...one day ry
is going to move out of home and get married and not be my baby
anymore!!!!
Natural evolution and growth, so fantastic to see it in action.

Whilst that day is still years away, having a baby makes you see just
how fast time flies. Falling victim to the overpowering thoughts in
our head, we rarely focus on the now and just savour the moment.

Today ry was in the jumper being super cute and kuni and I were both
home to enjoy the moment as it happened, soaking up all the excitement
Ryder was projecting and watching him for ages just learning,
developing and loving life for what it was giving him at that exact
point in time.

Overthinkin gets you nowhere. Savour what you have in front of your
face right now and enjoy your life as it unfolds.

Beanie life

It's just so cold.... Into Tokyo today to extend my spouse visa and
meet with Blue editors, 56 pages of raw Aussie single fin stuff coming
your way next month!

So cold so cold so cold

Snow in Tokyo

A busy week flying between Adelaide, Sydney, Gold Coast and then
finally Japan has left Ry and I totally buggered and almost looking
forward to a month of house-bound living! But never did we expect to
fly into a Tokyo snowstorm!!!!
There were even giant snowflakes pelting down late last night here on
the east coast in Isumi, Chiba!!!

Right back into the full swing of things, Kuni and I shot with Sho and
Jon for the new Oshmans spring wetsuit catalog today at our home studio.

Ry has been snugged up in fleece and bath time is our favourite part
of the day!

Is it bad to say I'm looking forward to heading back to oz next
month....always missing the pups and of course kuni, but snow on he
coast is much too much. A trip to pow pow land a must me thinks....

Sydney sky

A few days to go in oz and after a hot humid Sydney day the evening
sky turned on a great sunset over the River in Oatley.

Checked the surf in Cronulla but totally flat...

Winter boy

Just arrived in Sydney :)
Today Ry spent his final hours in Adelaide wearing in his hats getting
acclimatized for the Japanese winter next week!!!

Australia day!

Happy Australia day!
For ry's first oz day we inducted him in the only way- beach followed
by a BBQ!
Few more days left of summer for us then back to the middle of winter
in japan.... Brrrr

Tour down under day out

Today I worked shooting ar the tour down under in adelaide, took ry
with aunty Kellie and uncy Shaun. Great day of cycling and so much
action on king of the hill!

Renewal

Onto 2010. Kuni is back in Japan, and braving the lonely cold. He noticed the streets are empty and everyone is locked inside their homes. He misses the Aussie heat and the festivities that come with summer down under.

Ry and I have a week and a bit left in Adelaide before we shoot over to visit family and friends in Sydney for a few days, then back in Japan Feb 1st. Unfortunately a never-ending deadline has meant that I have not been able to relax much at all since being home, but I can't really complain..
Would love to get another surf in before I go, the nose of my board got hammered by the heatwave over xmas and new years and is destroyed but I need to have a farewell surf on it!

A lot has gone on over the past 3 months, good times, hard times, happy and sad, but at the end of the day life is what you make of it. If you think it is great it is. If you think it is hard it is.

The mind has power over all that you create, achieve and believe.

So that being sad, life is fucking GREAT!

Happy New Year 2010!
あけましておめでとう！

This year was a New Year full of firsts; my first new years back in Oz for 5 years, my first new years in oz with my darling husband Kuni, my first new years with adorable baby Ryder, and the first New Years in oz that I stayed home and didn't wake up with a hangover the next day!
今回のNew Year's Eveでは５年ぶりオーストラリアで、初めてクニと来君で実家でゆっくりなハウスpartyできて本当に良かった。そして、はじめて飲み過ぎしてなかった！笑う。

Of course when New Years comes around, its time to grab the pen and paper and write out the resolutions that we are so eager to stick to in the first few months. Every year I go back over my old list, and realize that I have actually completed most of my goals, but there are always a few that I could have spent more time working on.

This year however, I decided to keep it simple, keep it real and keep it fully achievable. This year I have just one resolution, and by keeping just one I plan to work on it every day of my life, remembering it always and making it part of my daily routine:

Through this I aim to create a positive atmosphere for myself, my husband, son, family and friends to orb around, with the greater goal of transferring this energy onto those important in my life.

One thing I have learned in 2009, is that we always end up complicating life too much, and sometimes we just need to KEEP IT SIMPLE.

So here's to 2010 and keeping the balance, naturally!
