夏来たね！Summer is Here!

Outdoor Japan Magazine

From August 1st I will become assistant editor of Outdoor Japan Magazine! This month Kuni and I feature a summer special on Surfing in Chiba, and Kuni's great shot of Eugene Teale is on the cover, as well as many photos inside. Check it out! The new issue should be available to view online soon, and can be bought at various book stores in Tokyo as well as in all Mont Bell stores, North Face Stores, etc.

静岡JPSA／Shizuoka

木曜日の朝にクニはバリから帰って来た！そして、夜から一緒にJPSAロングに行っちゃった！夜に富士川パーキングまで行って、キャンピングカーで寝ちゃった。ヤマちゃんも犬達もみんなゆっくり寝れた。
金曜日の朝にアンジーは一番早くに起きて、犬達と散歩して、ちょっとのんびりしました。天気がくもりから富士山を見えなかった。男達起きたら、starbucksのんで、let's go to Shizunami!

Kuni came home on Thursday morning, and then Thurs night we were off with the dogs and Yama chan to JPSA long contest in Shizuoka. Kuni drove us as far as the Fujikawa parking, and we all crashed out for the night in the camping car. I awoke first on Friday morning, but clouds prevented my view of Fuji. Taking the pups for a stroll, chillin and doing some reading, the boys finally woke up and then we had some starbucks and left for Shizunami.

それで、静波に着いて、波ぜんぜんなかった。クニは土曜日から写真撮るから、とりあえず御前崎に言って、Cloveru　Surfboardsのryosukeくんとのんびりサーフィンしました！水はめちゃめちゃきれいと温かいだった！波はマーマー出来た！
We arrived at Shizunami and the waves were non existent-dead flat! So Kuni had the day off and we drove down to visit Cloveru Surfboard Shaper Ryosuke Kun at koya surf in Omaezaki, had a fun sure-water was warm and amazing, crystal clear.



夜なったら、静波のビーチサイドでキャンピングカーの中にDVD見て、寝ました。波の音が気持ちよかった。
We crashed that night by the beach back in Shizunami-watched a DVD in the camping car and then fell asleep to the sound of the waves.....or water rippling along the sand, whatever you want to say. There were nice sounds but the surf was flat!

JPSAは土曜日にRound１くらいやって、波ぜんぜんないからwaitingなりました。日曜日の朝なって、まだ波ないと天気本当悪くなって、大雨で大会ぜんぶキャンセルなっちゃった。だから、私たちはゆっくり寝て、温泉入って、千葉まで帰りました。早く良い波乗りした！
There were no waves on Saturday, or Sunday, so after only completing one round on Saturday, waiting all day and into the next, which only brought torrential rain and less surf, the event finally was called off early Sunday morning. We slept some more, had a deserved onsen, then made the trek back home to Chiba.
I really need to get some good surf soon....

今日はいすみでNSAの東京ブロック出ました。Round１のヒートを一番なったけど、Round２で負けちゃった！残念。まだ今度頑張ります。

back from the NSA Tokyo contest today at Isumi, won my first heat and then got knocked out in round 2, spewin! Better luck next time ey!

Kuni is still in Indo, his pics from the Bali JPSA contest are up on the JPSA website, so check em out. Poor thing is over that way for a month and can't even surf once......just snappin away day in day out.

It's still raining in Japan. Yey.

I can only grimace in shame.....

Yesterday I was in Tokyo going to a meeting, when I stumbled upon a pet store that allowed it's dogs to run free and play without a care in the world. Intrigued, I entered. Never judge a pet shop by its cover, especially in Tokyo. Always assume it's 10 times more horrid.....in this case, 20 times.

After falling in love with the Dulux-commercial big pup who was running around like crazy, occasionally stopping to relieve his dry throat by drinking from the fish tanks, I almost stopped short when I noticed a small monkey in an aquarium, next to another glass prison full of tropical lizards, backing onto another cage with a barely alive Fruit bat.....

Needless to say I snapped a couple of photos for my blog so that everyone can see the real pet-shop situation in Japan (my stomach churns thinking about those in other parts of Asia...) and that something should be done to help these poor creatures who are being hauled up in tini tiny cages with astounding price tags waiting for some rich business man to come and buy his precious daughter an illegal endangered green lizard for girl's day.

Not cool.

昨日、東京でペットショップに入って、犬達はフリーで遊んでた。ええ？と思って、もっと入って、すぐいっぱいショックしました。マンキーちゃんとかフルーットバットとかいろいろな動物いました。小さいケージの中にみんながぜんぜん元気ないしてるから、本当かわいいそうと思った。もう、良くないよ本当に。出来る事はしたいね。
写真みてるの犬はかわいいでしょう。あの犬がとなりのフィッシュタンクから水飲みました。。。自分のお皿の中に水なかったからかな。。。

Benji in Harajuku!

今夜、原宿Burton　Storeで、ベンジーのDVD　Launch　Partの仕事しました。Surf 1st Magazineで。去年ベンジとー達インタビューしてたから、今回も仲良くて、楽し仕事出来た。かわいい彼女のMaiちゃんも一緒に遊んで、DVDも最高でした！今回カラニーが来れなかったけど、DVDいっぱい出たよ！

Burton　Storeはコールドロームがあるから、１回ベンジーと私の友達のアヤちゃんと３人が入って、GuchというChannelIslands人がドアをロックして、出れなかった！そのルームの中は本当寒かったといっぱいbudweiserあったよ！面白かった。

今回クニちゃんはまだインドネシアから帰って来てないから、違うカメラマンと仕事したけど、クニはいつも心繋げてるから、彼の力をゲットした！

インタビューも面白かったから、今度Surf1stを買ってチェックしてね！！よろしく！

I just got back from Harajuku where I went to Benji Weatherly's DVD launch party at the Burton Tokyo Store. Working for Surf 1st magazine, like last year, we had a laugh working and drinking and Benji's beautiful girl Mai was there hanging out too.

The DVD was amazing, worth it and you should all go out and buy a copy! Kalani is hilarious in it.

The Burton store has a cold room that is like a giant fridge and you are supposed to use it when you're trying on your snow gear. Benji just had to show me and Aya, so we went in and froze amongst the cases of Bud, and then Channel Islands head guru Guch decided to lock us in-thanks Guch.

Kuni is still in Indo, so I had to work with another cameraman so that was interesting, but he's always in my heart (corny) so I could still relax as if we were there working together.

The interview was a huge laugh as always with Benji Weatherly, so check it out sometime in Surf 1st if you can read Japanese! Ha!

このあいだ友達とGreenroom行きました！Outdoor Japanというのマガジンで私はたまに仕事してるからプレスパスもって楽しんだ！大好きなAussie
ブルースアーチストAsh Grundwaldと合って、Jonas Glass VisionもRickie-GもKeisonも良かった！雨いっぱい降ったのにいっぱい人いたね。クニちゃんはJPSAあったから行けなかったから、来年一緒に行きたいです。

Few weeks ago I went to Greenroom Festival 08 on a press pass from my lovely editor at Outdoor Japan Magazine-thanks G! Caught up with rocking Blues artist, Aussie Ash Grunwald, checked out Jonas' Glass Vision, and chilled to the fine tunes of Rickie-G and Keison. The constant rain didn't keep the music lovers away, with a turn out perhaps bigger than last year.
Kuni was shooting the JPSA again so missed out, hopefully we can go together next year!

クロベル撮影＆タイトビーチサーフフェスター

昨日の朝にクニがバリに行っちゃって、６月末まで帰って来ないから寂しいよ！そして、クニがいないから、今日クロベルな撮影はブラザー将ちゃんやってくれた。アンジー、ナンちゃんも宮島パパもはモデルでファマリースタイルな良い撮影出来た！良い天気から、スンバーン過ぎしゃった！ヤバい痛い！！
タイトビーチでサーフフェスタを見に行って、ともちゃんがきれいhula　girlだった！まりちゃんも初めて足を海に入って、びびて泣いちゃった！chickenちゃんだね！頑張れまりちゃん！
まだswellあるから、頑張って明日早く起きて波乗りしたい。
２日間前にPriusちゃんも来たよ、本当最高な車、エコエコエコ！良かったよ。

それで、眠くなっちゃったからお休み！

Yesterday Kuni left for Bali, and he won't be back until the end of the month-sad! But, even though there was no Kuni, we still were able to do a good photo shoot for Cloveru's next catalogue with Brother Sho behind the camera....pants and all! Thanks to nan chan and daddy yoshi for modeling with me!
Finally the sun was shining, so stupidly I stayed out in it all day without putting on any cream and got frizzled....thanks to my 3/4 tights, I now have permanent red knee high socks that offer free warmth and constant pain....yippe.

The Surf Town Festa was held at Taito too today, tomo was looking so beautiful in her Hula outfit and Mari put her toes in the water for the first time, hated it and screamed. ha.

Oh yeah, and our new car came 2 days ago....little miss Prius....it's really cool. yey!

海ちょっと入った！！！ ／ the day i managed a quick surf...

今日は太東でちょっとだけ波乗り出来た！J-Selectのマガジン仕事は今日お休みから、１回千葉に戻ったけど、ともちゃんとParty　People頑張りましたから、休みはないよ！とりあえず、仕事の間３０分くらいサーフィン行っちゃった。人が多くて、風もオンなちゃって、あまり良くないけど、天気が良くて、気持良かった！
その後、友達は赤ちゃんすぐ生まれそうからアンジーの家の近くの病院で入院してるから会いに行った。オーストラリアの病院ぜんぜん違う！ホテルみたい！ご飯も美味しそうだった！アンジー達が赤ちゃん出来たら、あそこは良いと考えてる！！！
明日はまだ東京！頑張ります！

Today I managed a quick 30 min surf out at Taito, but it was so crowded even for a usual Thursday, onshore, so the waves weren't so good but I still managed to refresh myself and enjoy the perfect weather!
Although a day off from J-Select, tomo and I were busy busy busy working in her office for Party People, so I could only sneak in a surf between working!
In the arvo, I went to a nearby birthing clinic to visit my friend who has been admitted 3 weeks before her delivery date because the baby is getting ready to come but it's too soon, so she's not allowed to move. Usually I'm scared of hospitals, but this one is like a hotel, and the food was the best hospital food I've ever seen!!!!! Def gonna keep that in mind for my little bubbies!
Tomorrow-back to Tokyo!

今日はこんな感じ。。/so this was today....

今日はお台場で仕事ありました。アメリカーのlibertyちゃんと日本であるからびっくりした！！
朝の山手線がサイヤクでした。もう死にそうだったよ。。クンちゃんは今日からLAから、ちょっと寂しいけど、今いすみに戻ったから犬達一緒にいるからハッピーだよ！明日も、休みの日からサーフィンとPartyPeopleを頑張ります！早く海入りたい！！！

Odaiba, apparently the romantic part of Tokyo, has a statue of liberty......no suprizes about my suprize....anyway, i had a meeting over that side of town today, and it was great to be able to see a new side of tokyo for me whilst working! the morning yamanote sen train is beyond imaginable pain.....im talking people hanging from the roof and yes i was squished as flat as can be......those priority seats in the morning have NO meaning......won't be getting me on those morning trains pregnant, that's FO SHO! no seriously, i will have to take a photo coz those who have never lived in Tokyo have NO idea what the 8am ikebukuro-gotanda is all about.....not joking, one lady fell over this morning in the middle of rush our and people just trampled on her-NOT ONE asked if she was ok..........

anway, kuni flew out to LA this evening, so back in Chiba now with the pups things are a bit quiet, but I've got a day to catch up on Party People business and get in the water once or twice, so nothing to complain about!

また東京ね。 /another day in Tokyo!

Now I'm back in Tokyo...I went home for 2 days, enjoyed Mari's birthday party, saw Kuni and my precious pups for a mere night/morning, and am now back working and trying to survive rush hour on the trains....you have no idea...
まだ東京で仕事してます。週末に１回二日に家戻った、マリちゃんの誕生日楽しんだとクニと犬達と１２時間くらい逢えた！月曜日の夜からまだ東京に来ました。朝に山手線はね。。。ヤバイね。。もう死ぬそう感じ。。

last night me and Erika went out to dinner with Kuni's stepdad-sashimi and beer....too much beer.
昨日、池袋でクニの親父と妹と３人でサシミとビールを行って来た。。アンジーとパパは飲み過ぎでした。。。今日頭だめだった！

so anyway, working hard-gotta do it before we make babies! Finished my stories for Outdoor Japan and Surf 1st, Party People is so busy with new customers every day!!! I can't wait to surf on the weekend....but Kuni will be in LA so I won't be able to see him for another week and a half......sad!
とりあえず、いっぱい頑張らないと。。まだ赤ちゃんいないから。。Outdoor　JapanとSurf 1stマガジンのwritingも今夜終わって、ちょっと頭がrelaxできる事なった。Party　Peopleのほうも今毎日新しいお客さんが連絡してるから嬉しい！！！頑張ります！！！週末なったら、早くサーフィンしたい。。でもクニは明日からLAに行っちゃうから、まだ　1 週間くらい逢えないね。。ちょっと寂しい。。

well, that's about it for now, bath and bed for me! Up again tomorrow for another day of fun/hard work!

Mari turns 1! / マリサちゃんもう1歳なった！

Mari had her 1st birthday on Saturday, so we had a party for her on Sunday! It was soooo fun, and she got a new play house which I enjoyed all day! Ha ha! Guess me and Kuni will be next!

まりちゃんもう１歳なりまあした。誕生日Partyもうやったよ！加藤達がちょう頑張って、最高な楽しいparty出来た！有難う！マリサのプレゼントとアンジーもずっと遊んでた！子供の家だった！早くクニと子供出来て、いっぱいおもちゃと遊びたい！！！！

カッちゃんの結婚！kachan's wedding!

今夜、加藤君と銀座でカッちゃんの結婚party行ってきました！カッちゃんちゃんと結婚出来たね！嬉しい！カッちゃんのおかげで私とクンちゃんも結婚出来たからね。。。明日はマリサちゃんの誕生日partyだね。マジ楽しみ。新しいおもちゃと遊びたいよ！

Tonight i went to Ka chan's wedding part in Ginza! Issy-you wouldn't believe it but he wore a suit and everything!!!! We were an hour early because aki got the time wrong but we had a cupla beers before and enjoyed the night so it was all good.

off to bed now-mari's bday party tommorrw!

東京ライフ／Tokyo Life

今週から、東京で仕事だいぶ始まったね。週３日間。クニの実家泊まってるから、ラクだよね。
いろいろな人と合ってるとクニの家族をゆっくりできてるから楽しいね。
クンちゃんは犬達とJPSA行っちゃったから、ちょっと寂しいけど、やっぱ自分の時間も大切ね。

I'm now working in Tokyo 3 days a week, which is a new world for me. Kuni is in Ibaraki for the JPSA with the dogs, so I have been able to stay in Tokyo this whole past 3 days with Kuni's mum and sister, which has been lovely. I'm missing the surf, but loving the new experiences. Missing Kun and the pups of course, but you gotta have you own time too hey!

Will be nice to have kun and the pups home!
